Mars Hydro Reflector 192 | 960 WATTS

Mars Hydro Reflector 192 LED Grow Light

As an indoor grower you know the importance of getting the right light for your cannabis garden. For many years that meant using a metal halide bulb during the veg stage and then swapping it out for a high pressure sodium bulb during the flowering stage.. With the advent of LED grow lights, this can now be done with a single light fixture.

LED grow lights put out more light, using less energy, while creating less heat in your grow room. Another added advantage is you don’t need to replace the bulbs as often.

High pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs need to be replaced after 2 years because they begin  to provide less light. This is where the Mars Hydro Reflector 192 comes into play.

Mars Hydro Reflector 192 Review 2020

The Mars Hydro Reflector 192 is an affordable LED Grow Light if you are on a budget or you’re trying to cut down on the cost for your indoor cannabis garden. The panel has been upgraded using 5 Watt EpiStar LED chips providing full spectrum of light to ensure you get the maximum quality and yields from your indoor garden.

Light Spectrum

The Mars Hydro Reflector 192 is a 12 band full spectrum LED Grow Light using 192 – 5 Watt Epistar LED chips. Unlike other LED grow light panels all the chips emit white light. There are four infrared LED chips. The panel has two switches, veg and Bloom used to control the power output of the panel. The panel color output range is between 2700 to 3200 Kelvin.

Energy Efficiency

The Mars Hydro Reflector 192 compares to a 450 HPS/MH/HID bulb. During the veg stage the panel uses approximately 250 watts. In the flowering stage it is recommended to have both switches turned on for a total power usage of approximately 390 Watts.

Warranty Information

The Mars Hydro Reflector 192 comes with a full one-year warranty. The second year they only offer the parts to repair the light. You can repair it yourself or send it into a service center but you would be responsible for the cost of shipping.

For me this is kind of strange because most vendors offer a two year warranty at the least and with quality products you normally get a 3-year unconditional warranty.

Pros

  • Full spectrum with 4 IR chips
  • High-quality EpiStar 5 watt LED chips
  • Independent switches for Veg and Bloom
  • Priced for the budget-minded indoor grower

Cons

  • One year limited warranty
  • No installation manual included
  • Some growers have found that the LED chips burn out  in the  2nd year.

Summary

I’ve used the Mars Hydro Reflector 192 for some time and had no issues with it. My only concern is it only comes with a full one-year warranty, 2 year parts replacement warranty that I feel is unacceptable. For about the same price you can buy another LED panel that comes with a full 3-year warranty and additional functionality.
